Count Spades.
I wanted this back - and tried my best to make it happen - and I've yet to see whether the comic will be as entertaining as it was, but why do I find the new character designs to be lacking? - Well, first off I find it hard to crush on a 10-yr old Count. He's supposed to be an adult but his height and broad chest seems to be missing in this version, which gets me down.
I know there's a reasonable chance that my idea to bring it back - redesigned - and the email I sent Antares may well have spurned this turn of events... but... I dunno.
Her style used to show skill and look appealing though it was simplistic - now, it still shows skill but she seems to have reverted to a child-like character style and I always tend to look down on those.
I know I'm being too critical and having a go at her when she's only just come back and really needs encouragement, but let's face it, she won't necessarily even read my journal and what you don't know can't hurt you.
All in all, I can safely say she's gained a lot more skill than she had and her attention to detail has much improved.
Lala is really cute. I don't mind her being younger too much - I thought the idea of having a young girl being much more level-headed and mature than an adult man would add more depth to an existing humor. BUT, she looks as if she's made Count Spades into a child-man (as if men aren't child-like enough already
)
I'll stick around... I'll wait and see what it's like and try to keep an open mind to a change of my opinion... but if Spades is a child the story would have lost about 70% of its appeal.
Ta-tah. That's my harsh two cents when I should be happy about this. D:
